Loved reading your story, Jake. Did you know. I drove a cab while in Brooklyn College? The seedy days, before a window was put up between driver & passenger. I quit the day I found out my 2 buddies, 1 female, 1 male both packed guns! I think that year 6 cabbies were shot. Many of my fleet were ex cons! Cabs had no shock absorbers! I didn't make much money. Drove nights, & had bouts of lonliness, & some sweet & interesting conversations.

Just landed in Johannesburg, hours ago, & had lovely & rich conversation with country man who needs to live the urban life to support his family in another province. What's new, right?

Death truly is the big illusion. People we have deep connections with are internalized. They become part of us, and they're here, with us in every moment. Thank you Sirron. Thanks for reading too friend.
